Q |
I have a small
query, if by accident a wrongly spelled word is added into the
dictionary while spell checking, is there any way to edit the
dictionary database? - K Gopal |
|
A |
Tamil Dictionary
files is found in the same path where KWP is stored (This will be
typically C:\Program Files\Kamban Software\KWP. The file name is
TUSER.D for Tamil user Dictionary and EUSER.D for English user
dictionary. You can open these files in KWP itself as text files. Once
opened, you can edit or delete words. Every word added to this
dictionary is separated by a comma. After editing save the file as
Text file on the same name! |

Q |
I purchased your
Kamban 3.0 at Chennai on 11.3.2000. Being an author, I find that I
cannot correct the text (after getting a KWP file saved in the Rich
Text Format) in the Pagemaker. Without the facility to make
corrections in the Pagemaker, it would be of little use for me if work
on Kamban WP. Kindly help me out. -

KWP 3.0 has all the
functionalities of Desktop publishing and there is no need to use
external Word processor for typing. However if you do have to use in
other Software, you still have to use KWP to edit it. This is not a
problem with KWP. The fonts encoding are such that you cannot use
standard keyboard to type Tamil letters. KWP has a built in driver
which decodes keyboard input to output Tamil letters.
Note: KWP also comes with 9 variations of TAM fonts which end in TW
like BarathiTW, MaduramTW etc., These fonts can be used to input Tamil
characters in other application using the keyboard layout provided
with the package (This is the typewriter layout equivalent). These
fonts are not as smooth as TAM fonts and generally we do not encourage
this for Desktop publishing). |

Whenever I start
KWP, I get an error - "KWP performed an illegal Operation" and closes.
Even re-installing did not fix the problem. Can you please help? - K

KWP has a small
registry problem. This is caused when the video controller is changed
or resolutions are changed. You get an error similar to:
"THIS
PROGRAM HAS PERFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION AND WILL BE SHUT DOWN. IF
PROBLEM EXISTS, CONTACT THE PROGRAM VENDOR."
before KWP opens.
This problem could be solved as follows:
Open Regedit (click start, run and type Regedit and press OK)
Press Ctrl + F in Regedit. (Or click on Edit and select Find)
Type
Kamban Word Processor
on the Find What: Field.
Click on Match Whole String Only. (Ensure a Tick appears on the
small box before it.)
Click on Find Next.
After a while the cursor highlights to the left of the pane.
Press Delete key on the keyboard.
You will get a box asking for "Are you sure you want to delete this
key"
Click on Yes.
Press "F3".
This will search again. If it finds another "Kamban Word Processor"
then delete that as well. (See above steps). If not you will get a
message like:
Finished searching through the registry.
Click OK.
Close Regedit.
This will fix the problem
