  Kamban Software is a Company dedicated to the production of Tamil Word Processor and associated utilities. Formed in early 1994 in Australia, is a family Organisation, formed by Computer Professionals. Our only aim is to serve the community, which we all belong to and introduce Computing / Word Processing for our Mother Tongue - Tamil.

We develop Software as a hobby, we do not have any overheads. The Company is not formed for any monetary benefits and hence any profit from the Company is funnelled back to the development. This allows us to distribute our Products at a cost, which is easily affordable by common users.

We had come a long way since its inception in 1994. Currently we are working on word processing packages for other Indian languages, simultaneously enhancing our best selling Kamban Word Processor, release version 3.0.   Our product is already been taught in Schools and Universities in Singapore, Malaysia and India. We also have certified Institutes world wide to teach Tamil Computing using Kamban Word Processor. As we approach our 10th Anniversary a lot of diverse applications for multitude of Indian Languages is planned. We are also planning to release Tamil Literature in CD formats.

Singapore Branch
Kamban is widely marketed in Singapore. As our first release became more popular, we opened our Branch in Singapore around Mid 1995. Today, Singapore is our Sales head quarters, from where Kamban is being distributed to rest of the world. Singapore Branch is manned by Mr. Lakshmanan, who in the tradition of the Company, is serving the Community, rather than interested in economics of selling. Again he carries out the sales as a hobby. This drastically reduces our selling expenses and helps us to keep the price low on our product.

Chennai Branch
When we released the first Tamil Editor software to support Government's initiative in Fonts and Keyboard standardisation, it was not surprising, as Tamil Nadu Government came forward to recommend our product. This product is distributed freely and is widely used by Tamil Nadu Government Departments. As our user base is expanding widely we have now opened an office in Chennai.
